FOR MUSKINGUM COUNTY BOARD OF DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES

 FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR

Classroom Assistant – A 9 Month (183-day) position in the school-age program at Starlight School assisting the teacher in the planning, development and implementation of daily training and instructional programs for students with developmental & behavioral disabilities. Must be willing to assist students with personal hygiene and physical care needs such as feeding and toileting. Must work in close contact with students with developmental disabilities in a variety of situations which may include assisting with physical and behavioral needs. High School Diploma is required. Paid work experience with children with developmental disabilities is preferred.

Bus AssistantA 9 Month (183-day) position working 25 hours per week. Responsible for monitoring, supervising, ensuring health and welfare, and providing assistance to students with developmental disabilities while being transported. Applicant must have a high school diploma. Previous paid work experience and/or training preferred.

Pre-School Intervention Specialist

THE FOLLOWING POSITION IS AVAILABLE

Muskingum County Board of Developmental Disabilities

2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR

 

Pre-School Intervention Specialist - A 9 month (183-day) position teaching pre-school students in a multiple disabilities classroom. Evaluates and determines student levels and needs and participates in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEP) designed to help students accomplish personal, educational, developmental, and social skills. Attends to and provides instruction and direct support to help students achieve personal hygiene needs including cleanliness, toileting, and feeding. Monitors and directs student’s behavior and skill development, and adjusts curriculum to meet each student’s needs. Plans and implements program of developmentally appropriate activities including gross and fine motor skills, cognitive development, social and adaptive behavior development, and language and communication development. Creates a warm and caring environment conducive to learning, and develops and implements daily classroom schedule.

Applicant must have at minimum a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood/Special Education and an Early Childhood Intervention Specialist (P-3) license from the Ohio Department of Education. Paid work experience with children with developmental disabilities is preferred.
