School Students Learn New Skills & Enjoy a Feast!
On Tuesday, November 20th, Starlight School celebrated our thankfullness with a delicious feast. Our cook, Marcia Owen prepared turkey, mashed potatoes, noodles and lots of other fixings, while all staff and classrooms contributed to the amazing spread of delightful foods. Preschool students used scissors to snip fresh herbs as they prepared the dressing. They used both hands to tear apart bread into crumbs and plastic knives to chop celery. I bet they continued to practice these skills at home while helping in the kitchen too!
Schoolage students spent Monday in the kitchen with occupational and speech therapists - Class One made a cherry salad, Class Two made a hash brown casserole, Class Three made corn casserole, Class Four made macaroni and cheese and Class 5 made pumpkin pies. During the feast, classes decorated with centerpieces and hats and enjoyed the fellowship of eating the feast together in the gym.
